Background
Horsepower .com was conceived by two California farmers trying to find a better and more profitable way to
sell their farm products directly to a buyer. Realizing that the internet could provide the necessary
tools to effectively sell their products, they partnered with a computer engineer and a Finance Executive
to form HP AgriSystems LLC in 2010. Together they created an e-commerce website called Horspower.com that
mimics an online farmer's market, enabling a farmers to connect directly to a buyer, such as a consumer,
restaurant, other farmer and anyone else in between.

because it offers direct access to quality food and for farmer's because they make more money by selling
direct.

control their business and where consumers know their names.

We will enable small farmers to market and sell their products directly to any buyer, anytime, anywhere in
a virtual farmer's market.
How It Works
The Internet is the world's largest marketplace allowing people from anywhere to transact business at
anytime. At Horsepower you can bring your products to that marketplace in the same way you take your goods
to a farmer owned cooperative, CSA, auction, farmers market, retailer, or restaurant.
By creating a "for sale" post you can reach more customers, more often. You can also create "wanted" posts
to ask for the things you need to grow your goods, build your business, or put food on the table.
